Years ago Hubby transformed an antique dresser into our bathroom sink. I brought home an old marble top with a porcelain sink, rather than build a new vanity, Hubby decided to alter an antique dresser we had in the attic. He disassembled the dresser, cut it down to the right size, and reassembled it.
It wasn’t bad, but Hubby wanted an update – who am I to argue? So we went antique shopping and found this….
A few minor repairs and a couple of holes in the top…..
It was so easy, at least Hubby always makes it look that way. We have thick baseboards, the marble top on the previous vanity was adjustable and slid back to cover the gap. For this cabinet, Hubby made a back-splash – columns and all. We purchased a simple vessel sink at Lowes, the faucet was purchased on ebay…….
With some minor alterations to the inside of the drawers to allow space for plumbing, they’re both functional.
If I remember to link to Metamorphosis Monday, I’ll see you there – it’s been my plan for weeks. Thank you for visiting, I hope to see you again soon.
