Here we are again at Metamorphosis Monday, the weeks just fly by. Our hostess, Susan, at Between Naps on the Porch participants for you to enjoy.
I’m continuing a tour of our house and the changes made over the last 20 years. This week we’re jumping upstairs to one of the son’s bedrooms. He now lives in San Diego, so this room is only used when he visits.
The first photo was taken after a bit of demolition had begun…..my specialty……..
While scraping off 5 layers of wallpaper covered by 4 colors of paint, I discovered a chunk of brown hair in the plaster. I’d heard tales of a woman that had been locked in the attic when dementia set in – I just knew I’d found her. I spent all day trying to decide whether to dig her out or cover her up. I whispered to Hubby when he got home – took him upstairs – he just laughed and told me about horse hair plaster, a relief.
These photos were taken after Hubby did what he does best…….
Have I mentioned that he’s a remodeling contractor?
Our house predates built-in closets…….Hubby made this armoire from old mill wood….
This was our bed 20 years ago, sadly we out grew it…..
The mantle, which is a much simpler style than the downstairs mantels, is original…..
and finally, I always like a splash of color…..
Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon…..

Very nice, so warm and inviting. You say your husband built the armoire? He’s a keeper, hang onto him. I love the fireplace too.
