The Snap-Peas style of an Acai Bowl is with no added sugar and a lil’ bit of protein powder. We love the cool refreshing fruity goodness of the Acai Bowls in the summer and instead of the traditional serving at breakfast – it’s dinner at our house. At the end of a hot summer day I love any dinner plan that will allow me to skip standing over a hot stove. Salads and grilled foods will always reign supreme in the summer, but Acai adds a nice change from our norm.
Most recipes will begin with the frozen Acai packets, well….in lil’ ol’ Staunton – you aren’t going to find such wild and crazy ingredients. You will find the bottled juice in the produce section though. You have two choices, the “sugar added” – shown above is Hubby’s sweeter bowl. My preference is the “No Sugar Added” – why do you need sugar with all the yummy fruit? My darker richer colored, tastes just as good bowl is here….
I use Tera’s Whey Protein Powder. I love their flavors and that they don’t add sugar, and it’s healthy….One bottle of juice make two of these bowls – enough for our dinner. Aren’t the bowls adorable? Ralph Lauren ala TJ Maxx!
