E is for egg cups, Carlton Ware walking egg cups make my breakfast of soft boiled eggs cheery, To be honest, I’d never tried soft boiled eggs until I saw Nigella Lawson on the food network make them with toast made from rustic bread and cut into strips for dipping. I don’t think I ever made another thing I saw on her show – but for some reason this breakfast stuck. I love it on mornings when I don’t have to rush and I’m in the middle of a great book – one of those treasured, all about indulgence, mornings. I’m not a huge eggs for breakfast fan, but I do love these or a great omelette.
I’m rambling…back to the egg cups. The inspiration for my clever idea to collect these adorable egg cups came from a novel written by Jennifer Crusie “Fast Women”. It was a cute book – the main character is a down-on-her-luck divorcee that becomes involved with her new boss, a private detective. Her small collection of egg cups is a blurb in the novel – I never said I needed a neon sign type of suggestion to begin a new obsession , I mean collection. I thought they were so fun, well…I had to have a few for my indulgent breakfast.
