I’m loving my painted desk … it was a so-so piece before the transformation and now it shines. The copper legs are WOW! The artist, Renae Bailey put so much love into this project, I feel it every time I walk into the room.
Prior to the transformation, the desk was a dark piece in the corner. With the copper legs and cream top, the newly painted desk shines.
To truly see the transformation, lets take a look at the before….
The decision was made to leave the inside unpainted for the contrast. To jazz it up a little, a light rub of copper was applied to the carved details. The subtle highlights shine in the natural light of the room.
The hinges and hardware received a rub of copper…. this is before….
and the new look …
The outside was painted and then distressed … I know there was a lot more to the process but not being a DIYer, I only know that Renee worked her magic and I’m in admiration of her talents.
This old desk has a new and shiny life …. I wish a coat of paint was all I needed to look fresh and new – ha!
Renae is returning a table today, I’ve received sneak peaks and can’t wait to see the finished product. She doesn’t know it yet, I’m hoping she accepts the challenge of my pie safe. Visions of Mission Impossible are running through my head … should you choose to accept this assignment ….
The pie safe is a replica, not an antique, I doubt I’d paint it if was a valuable old piece. I know Renae will make it look fabulous and the dark corner in my upstairs hall will be brilliant.
I’m joining Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.
