We have two fabulous porches…that we never use. I’ve decorated and accessorize them every year…get them all clean and ready for the warm weather seasons…and then ignore them until it’s time for pack them away for winter. Repeat every year.
In the mornings, we don’t want to have breakfast and coffee outside because we want to watch the news….in the evening, it’s the same thing. The magical solution that has escaped me in years past…move one of our gazillion unused televisions outside. We can’t receive the news, but we gave up watching the news a while back. I’m so tired of hearing about Presidential politics…there isn’t a single candidate that I like. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll vote in November…I want to reserve my right to complain…but our primary is over and I don’t need to hear them duke it out for the next few months.
Now that I’ve gotten THAT rant of my chest…what are we watching on our Porch TV? We’ve started watching old TV series that we missed when they were originally aired. So far we’ve seen Breaking Bad,Peaky Blinders, and Justified. We’re in the middle of Dexter, The Wire, and House of Cards. We’re FINALLY enjoying these fabulous porches.
One little note…I still read…a lot…but the TV time is a joint activity and since we get up at 5 am, we have plenty of time before the work day begins. I didn’t want anyone to worry that I’ve given up supporting amazon with my Kindle purchases. I do my part for the Amazon shareholders.
It’s Margarita Week!
Some people go to the beach or open up the pool to signify the unofficial beginning of summer…for me it’s the first Margarita of the season. We have a super special recipe from Jim’s uncle. It’s oh so yummy…for me…the non-drinker…I make dinner first….then sip the margarita…otherwise a pizza run would be in order.
Cooking Light Bowl Dinner
We’ve tried a couple of the easy peasy bowl dinners…I’ll share the yummy recipes, including my shortcuts, later this week. I love when I can toss a delicious healthy dinner together in under 30 minutes.
The Fairy Garden needed help…cracked bowl and just generally tired looking…I can’t wait to share my new pieces. I’ll also give you a sneak peak of the flowers going into my mother’s front porch pot. Years ago, I bought a pot and planted the flowers for Mother’s Day…it’s become my traditional Mother’s Day gift for her…and I already have a trip to the most fabulous nursery on the schedule for hubby and me this week….little does he know…
