I’ve had a decorating planner for as long as I can remember….for some unfathomable reason I decided it needed a facelift. Perhaps it’s the endless supply of cute planners, dividers, and stickers on the market..combined with my inability to resist. It was not a lack of more important things to do…but with an extra three days this tax season…why not finish a decorating binder? Considering the fact that we just finished giving the entire house a facelift…this pressing need MAY fall into the category of tax procrastination.
I made a divider for each room with an enlarged photo. I didn’t worry about the perfect shot with the perfect lighting…it’s just for me…for when I redecorate in another 15 years LOL
I then used my new laminator so they hold up to the wear and tear of being in a binder on my shelf, and punched holes with my new hole punch specially made for my planner with 7 holes.
I grabbed a gazillion paint chip cards…in case they all fall out of my planner on the shelf. The reason I selected this binder is it was one that had plastic zip lock pouches to hold fabric samples…perfect because every now and then I decide the room needs another pillow sham or something to match and now I have the fabric, name, and where I bought it handy.
I always make boards with the room’s wall color for the background and samples of the fabrics to keep on a bulletin board while we work on a project, now they have a new home in my planner.
Because one of the planners took so long to arrive, the company’s computers were down for almost a month…really? I gave up on them and verbally canceled the order. Shockingly, the cancellation wasn’t recorded because the computers were down…rather than send it’s adorableness back…I’m creating a second planner to keep track of seasonal decorating. I have a tendency to purchase cute spring pillows when I see them mid-winter only to discover cute spring pillows in the attic. While I’m certain the patrons of Goodwill love my seasonal rotation…I’m cataloging. I think this planner needs to be in hand as I approach TJ Maxx.
I’m also keeping ideas torn out of catalogs and magazines that I keep for inspiration in the pocket dividers.
Now that my planner project can be put on hold for a bit….I still have those recipes to share. I shad such high hopes for keeping on track with more frequent posts……then pregnant dog that required a little extra pampering and a bout of the flu threw my recent goals right out the window…life has a funny way of doing that. Until next time…
