After too many years to count, it was time to update the bathroom….it was really just a minor facelift…out with the red and in with the neutral…
For years we’ve had dark paint colors throughout the house and room by room we’ve been updating to light more neutral shades. I think the more chaotic my life becomes, the calmer I want my surroundings. YOU may not notice it, but I took out 7 paintings (most of them mini), and covered the stenciling on the floor.
The curtains are made from a lighter fresher fabric…..
and the towels…I found yellow polka dots at Home Goods…be still my heart…
One of the primary purposes of this project was to add a handheld shower and shower curtain to the clawfoot tub…so that our 218 year old …built before indoor plumbing….home would have an option for a shower on the first floor. I don’t intend to use it…but now it’s there if we ever need it.
Hubby wasn’t interested in refinishing the floor…because the tub and vanity would need to be disconnected and taken out…so I bought a rug large enough to cover the pink flowers I’d stencile on the floor in a moment of creativity years ago.
A glimpse of the before…actually this was the upstairs bathroom…I couldn’t find the downstairs in the media library and need to get going …they were the same color. Loved the red, just needed a change.
