It’s time for fall porch decorating or the seasonal transition of my back porch clutter. I love the spring things….I’m always so thrilled to see them at the end of winter. Bright and cheery – I love this look….but it’s officially time to bid ado until next spring, sigh…I already know I’ll be thrilled to see them in about six months.
The fact that winter is just around the corner, doesn’t dim my anticipation of seeing the glorious fall colors that will soon surround us in the Shenandoah Valley. Fall is spectacular here and I know one day soon we’ll wear warmer clothes, put the top down on the mustang, and take a drive along the parkway to see the beautiful orange leaves. In celebration of all that is fall….I made numerous treks to the attic to change the seasons….
I (obviously) use fake pumpkins – I haven’t figured out a way to make them grow with glitter. If it’s a choice between natural and fake with sparkle….well, you see my choice. I recently bought these handmade primitive dolls, I’m sooo incapable of DIY crafts, instead I support and greatly appreciate the skill of others. My two girls were hand made locally, and I had to promise to give them good homes – I always have a soft spot for these types of dolls. I love their grumpy faces…we’re kindred spirits, I don’t like cold weather either…
Everyone comes to our back door, so this is the space where I spread the cheer (aka clutter) – I want our home to feel welcoming before they even step through the door.
Thank you for the visit. I have a great recipe and another bedroom redo to share (if my “handmade” drawer pulls ever arrive from China) – be sure to stop in again soon!
I’m joining the fall porch party at Stone Gable – join me for a little browsing the other porches…..
