Like most people, the majority of my mornings are rushed. However, I try to slow the pace at least one morning a week and do a little pampering. My favorite step in the pamper me process is the scrub – I love the smells as well as the smooth skin they create.
Hands down, my favorites are the homemade sugar scrubs sold at Karen’s Emporium and Boutique in Churchville, VA. Karen is a friend of mine, so I may be a wee bit partial. Visiting her shop is not only fun because she has fabulous things for sale – jewelry, fun girl stuff, great primitive antiques and homemade items. Karen makes strangers feel like friends – you just want to go back again and again. Hubby groans when I go because I never come home empty handed. Just to quiet him, she sent me home with homemade candy for him to try – bet he won’t mind my next visit.
The scrubs are made by another friend, Ann – I know it sounds like I’m advertising for friends – but I swear, these scrubs make your mouth water they smell so good.
I keep the scrubs in my frig – because sugar scrubs can go bad – and I change “flavors” every now and then. I’m using coffee right now…
How cute is that……shells for the scoop – love it!
Ever so briefly, I contemplated making my own – I’m content to run down the road and pick a little variety up at Karen’s. Pink Grapefruit is next on my list.
If you’re a DIYer – here are a couple of great recipes I found on Pinterest….
and from Martha Stewart some bath salts for some additional pampering…
