Our Easter brunch was simple, but tasty. It’s a challenge to make a breakfast that isn’t to “eggy” for one family member and isn’t too sweet for another. I found a baked French toast recipe on Pinterest that looked delish, the trial run proved that looks can be deceiving. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’ve been less than impressed with the recipes I’ve found on Pinterest – that shopping has proved to be fabulous though. Back to the food, the menu wasn’t exactly what I’d originally planned, but after a puppy filled Saturday, I had to make due with the ingredients on hand. Saturday night I assembled a breakfast bread pudding using cubed Challah and Portuguese bread…..
layered with sauteed apples…
covered with a mixture of eggs, canned non-fat milk, vanilla, and spices….into the frig it went…
While this concoction baked, we made Apple Sausage….
I always make more than enough, because it’s always eaten…….
the bread pupping cooked for about 45 minutes, and was served with syrup…
and then there was the fruit….
I love fresh fruit,. Please don’t ever sweeten mine – it’s perfect just as it is….
