I’m sharing our trip to Valhalla Vineyard in Roanoke , Virginia – taking a drive on a gorgeous day is one of our favorite seasonal activities. Our destination was especially enjoyable because we were meeting Hubby’s brother and his wife for a visit/picnic lunch. What could be better than a visit with food and wine?
The tasting room sits on top of a hill – we enjoying our lunch at tables inside (they had a wedding in progress outside) with a fabulous view of the Shenandoah Valley.
The wine tasting was fun – better with each sip, followed by a tour of their cave…….
I initially (mistakenly) thought this was the cave they talk about for aging their wine. Once we entered, I realized it’s simply the processing room….
The big doors in the back look promising…..
This is more like it…….
Time to say good-bye to the brother and head home…..
Today we’re off to the horse races with my mother and brother. Hubby, mom, and bro all love the race track – notice who’s missing????

What a fun day. Even though I am not a drinker (even a taster) I would enjoy the cave tour. And it is even fun to watch people at a wedding.
Not sure I would want to spend a day at the track but there too it would make for great people watching. I’d want to go feed the horses sugar cubes or carrots.
